Singlets, city lights, Sedona, and saguaros

Mike and I, and my in-laws went to Phoenix about two weeks ago now (I know, I’m a little late on the post) to support Mike at a power lifting competition, his first competition too! My parents watched the kiddos, so we made a little vacation out of it.

First, the competition:

I was sooooo out of my comfort zone! I don’t really go to gyms, and I didn’t do sports too much (maybe once or twice) growing up. So, walking into a gym full of people in singlets was weird for me, but I was here to support my hubby, and he was IN HIS ELEMENT! The camaraderie between the competitors was incredible and so encouraging, that really broke down any walls of awkwardness. I ended up having a great time, and, more importantly, so did Mike. 🙂

Sunset and City Lights 🙂

Mountains and grasslands on our way to Sedona. The changes in the landscape throughout our trip was amazing!
See? Amazing! This is what welcomes you into Sedona!
Amos 4:13 – For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth— the LORD, the God of hosts, is his name!
I had never even heard of this place, so my in-laws and hubby insisted that we eat here 🙂

Did NOT disappoint! So yummy!
Nice place to sip some Chai
Seriously, this is the view from the Starbucks’ patio ❤
Driving with a view

The saguaros on top of the hill reminded us of old westerns, with Natives on horseback coming over the hills attacking the wagon train.
A quiet night in at our hotel, with our (my) favorite show 🙂

We had a great time together, with Mike’s parents, and a little alone time without the babies.
Mike is even looking to doing another competition in February (this one will be closer to home). So, he definitely had a good time 😉

Soli Deo Gloria
