This December, I am turning 26.
My daughter is turning 1, and her Christmas dress is the same one I am wearing above.
God has been so good!
My parents have seen the ups and downs of my life, my choices, and now my own family.
It’s a great testimony of God’s faithfulness to my parents. All of my siblings are walking with Christ, and are pursuing God’s will for their lives.
And now, my parents are pouring the truths of God into two international students who are living with them.
This post is a lot about my parents, but it is also a real life reminder to me of the principle of Proverbs 22:6, especially in the midst of parenting toddlers!
Tied with the principle of Proverbs, my parents’ life reminds me of the promise of Romans 8:28
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
Life isn’t perfect, I (and my parents!) will be quick to point out. But the “good” promised in Romans is not a “good” in this life, though that can happen. It is a “good” that is Everlasting. That “good” is God himself, and we will only fully experience that “good” in heaven, when we are in His presences forever.
Perspective is everything.
Soli Deo Gloria!
