Family favorites for playing together

My babies having a little time just the two of them together. I try to provide some alone time for them to learn about playing together ❤

Playtime is the majority of our days around here, so I thought I’d share some of my babies’ favorite toys. For my son, I will have an update in about a month or two since his birthday is coming up. He’s going to be TWO! (I’m both excited and can’t really believe it!)

Babies’ Favorites:

Warren is really into coloring, and he loves markers, especially now that he can get the caps open by himself for the most part. These Ultra-Clean Washable Markers are worth the little extra they cost compared to some other types BECAUSE of the “Ultra-Clean Washable” part! Warren doesn’t always keep his artistic expression on the paper, and all I need is a baby wipe (readily available in our house). Poof! Wipes right off of our coffee table, upholstery, clothes, walls, pretty much anything! It is worth it!

Evie loves her Sophie Giraffe ❤  It was originally Warren’s, but she doesn’t mind hand-me-downs 🙂
Eve is really into whatever she can get in her mouth, but Sophie is definitely her favorite, just hearing it squeak makes her squeal with happiness!

Mama’s Favorites:

These are some “baby paraphernalia” that are my favorite (with some links where you can get your own!) 🙂

The Ergo is a life saver! I really didn’t need it with my son, especially since he was much bigger than little sister. She is so happy in the Ergo now though! She can see me, see out, and there are plenty of straps for her to idly play with to entertain herself.

First of all, how cute is this picture? This is my sweet baby girl with her Great-Grandpapa this summer during our family vacation in Carlsbad 🙂
And check out that seat! Usually called a Bumbo seat, since that’s the name the company gave it, but we call it “the purple chair”. Very original, I know. It’s a great place to plop a little one who isn’t quite ready to sit alone, or even older babies who need to stay put for a little bit for mama’s sake 😉

This is the train of a thousand buttons and sounds. A perfect toy to keep little hands busy, or in our case, get through that last half an hour before nap time. Mama approved!

This high chair is a great option for small spaces (you don’t have to add a whole high chair to your dining situation). What I liked best about it was I could attach it to any chair and so keep my child at the same level as myself. That is the biggest downside for me about high chairs, that they are often so much taller than dining room chairs! Annoying! This chair solved that problem for me. Also something great: It converts into a booster chair. My parents and in-laws had this chair, and it was super convenient for them. They could put it on the chair when we were coming over, or take it off and put it in a closet when not in use!

Hope you find some good inspiration, or even some gift ideas! (for yourself or others) 😉
Comment with any questions you have about these products or any thing else I’ve posted! ❤

Love a Good Sale!

The kids went down for their naps (yes, together, at the same time, in the same room)! So I left Daddy in charge and went to the mall.
Because outings by myself are few and far between, so this introvert mama takes advantage of them whenever they come up.

My first stop was Teavana, because it’s so hot, I LOVE Teavana, and I firmly believe that shopping is better with a beverage. I got an iced Beach Bellini, and it was exactly what I needed! Sweetened, refreshing, and has all those summer fruit flavors. (Get your own Beach Bellini tea blend here!) Teavana was just a detour for me, because my main goal was to go to…

Charming Charlie! I love this store, and they are having their Semi-Annual Sale right now, bonus! 40% off already marked down prices, such a deal. If you like chokers, they are 80% off already marked down prices (in store and online – click here!), so some of the sale items are less than $1.
Like I said, such a deal!

Nap time only lasts so long, and I’m not really a “just browsing” kind of shopper, so I already had a mission in mind: purse (bigger than one I currently have, but not too heavy or clunky), and a dress (low maintenance, keeping both cool and covered while wrangling babies).

Mission accomplished!

Cute pattern and cut out in the back, right!
And, yes, I have pink hangers, because they make me happy when I have to put my clothes away. 🙂
Also, just so you know, it wasn’t all “spoil mommy time” 😉 I did go to Trader Joe’s for milk and food for dinner. #momlife 🙂

Food, clothes, refreshing alone time… God is good. Provided what I needed when I needed it. He does that a lot!

Surviving Hand, Foot, and Mouth

Hand, foot, and mouth disease. Man, it hits like a freight train. (Not like chicken pox though, phew!) My son came down with it (update: my hubby got it too), but luckily it looks like my little 7 month old baby and I are avoiding it.

I’ve got some supplies that helped immensely!

(Affiliate links included in post)

1. Calamine Lotion

My son is a fan of lotion, since he’s got pretty sensitive skin to begin with, so calamine lotion was a no brainer. When we put it on him, he giggles, sure sign that this stuff really feels good!

2. Benadryl

He has also always been really good about taking any kind of “medicine” we give him. Hallelujah! I stocked up on kid’s Benadryl (update: and once my husband contracted HFM I got the regular Benadryl too)

Note: my son is 22 months, i.e. not 2 yrs old yet, and the Benadryl bottle does warn not to give it to children under 2, but we got the green light from his doctor. SO PLEASE CALL YOUR CHILD’S DOCTOR BEFORE GIVING THEM OVER THE COUNTER MEDICATION LIKE THIS! BE WISE 👍

3. Oatmeal Bath

First of all, I love Aveeno, and second, the Aveeno bath treatment was instantly calming for my son. If you know my son, that’s literally a miracle. He’s quite the energetic and active kiddo! I love him!
Aveeno carries an eczema bath treatment as well, and it is part of their Aveeno baby line.
Here’s a link to it on Amazon, if you are interested: Aveeno Baby Eczema Bath Treatment

Update: Adults can get hand foot and mouth disease too! My husband contracted it, and he couldn’t walk for several days because the sores on his feet were so bad, and his fever was much higher than my son’s. So, wash those hands, and don’t share food or drinks!
I know, the latter is a challenge, especially with toddlers!

Well wishes all! Stay healthy!

God is still good! And He is still sovereignly in charge of all things, even hand, foot, and mouth disease!
Jesus healed so many people with leprosy (at the time a common term for nearly any skin disorder or disease). He has so much compassion for our physical sufferings, remember that as you comfort your sick kids. I hope you find peace in Him, and hopefully some helpful ways of bringing comfort to your little ones!  ❤
